The Last Black Unicorn By Tiffany Haddish

There's nothing I love more than a good biography. A solid read about a person's life who has risen from the concrete into a beautiful rose that is Tiffany Haddish. The breakout star in the hilarious comedy, Girl's Trip with Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Regina Hall. Tiffany Haddish steals the show as a wild loving friend bringing the party everywhere she goes. Similar to the natural personality she brings to her daytime appearances and late night interviews.

Black Unicorn lays out the journey it took for Haddish to get where she is today. Now sponsored by Groupon and breaking her way through the stratosphere on magazine covers and ad campaigns. Tiffany Haddish is a force that lived through an unimaginable life. From foster care to an abusive marriage at a young age, she lived in her car and managed to find her light through stand up comedy. Her book displaying the strength she had to always see a way out and push herself to do what she wanted. An intimate memoir on her experience which proves that persistence is mandatory to success. Especially when life throws the biggest obstacles in your way. It's an inspiring story that will humble you.

After watching Girl's Trip with my sister I was obsessed with Haddish, binging her old stand-ups at Laugh Factory and interviews she had with almost every show host. I loved her character in The Carmichael Show and came across her book from a coworker who had ordered it to the office. I was so excited to find out she had a book that I immediately downloaded it on my phone and read it within the month. It's a hilariously easy read that takes you through so many emotions. I honestly recommend this book to anyone. Especially if you're not a big reader but you want to start picking up more books. This is a quick, meaningful story about a woman that showed resilience to the greatest degree. Although she shares intimate stories about her life, you can hear her lighthearted voice and understand how she pushed through it all.
