Triple Beam Pizza in Highland Park

Eat

Ever since we got back from Rome, Markie and I have been on a hunt for bomb pizza. Roma style, chopped like a flatbread but made with pizza dough. It's a whole different pizza eating experience and thanks to his questionable Instagram stalking skills, he found a popular pizza shop in Highland Park called Triple Beam Pizza.

I'm not familiar with Highland Park but the city is rich in Latino culture and reminds me of San Fernando. As historical shops down Figueroa slowly fade away with the gentrification in the area, shops like Triple Beam Pizza bring new faces to the block. When you walk down the street you feel frozen in its transitional time. A hipster bodega with overpriced handmade purses lives a few doors down to a colorful fruit shop.

When you walk into Triple beam pizza; it's open, inviting and very very hipster. Taking up a large space with Hippo coffee shop and Highland Park Wine. A red wall explains how to use your hands to show the size pizza you want and then take your slices out on the patio. I love the garlic knots, buttery balls of fluffy goodness. So far, I've had their mushroom, Margherita, and sausage; but the pepperoni has been my favorite. I plan on trying the asparagus and spicy chorizo next time.
