In an effort to escape the allegory of our cave, Markie and I decided to check out an event series happening in DTLA. "#GoLittleTokyo is a project developed and produced by Community Arts Resources (CARS) and made possible with support from Metro" that features new walking tours, food tastings, and exhibits. But I was here for the Ramen.

We noticed a huge crowd in front of Daikokuya and few Yelp reviews later I figured out that this was the one. Deemed one of the best ramen spots in Los Angeles according to LA Weekly, Zagat, ABC 7, LA Eater, and more.

As you walk through the flag curtains beneath that iconic yellow awning and put your name on that long waiting list the smell of hot broth hits your face. You must wait outside and the customers stop when the hostess pops outside to call the next name.

We sat at the bar where I ordered the Spicy Miso Ramen, tempura, and a beer I did not need; but I was in heaven. Japanese art surrounded the walls of a four-wall room and I could see the cooks behind the glass in front of me whipping up those bomb noodles. Daikokuya has five different locations across L.A., with vegan options and definitely lives up to the hype. If you check it out let me know below!
